Empowering 2S1LGBTQIA+ youth

Camp fYrefly: Supporting Future Leaders of 2SLGBTQIA+ Community

Camp fYrefly is a leadership retreat for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified, two-spirited, intersex, queer, questioning, and allied youth in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Ontario. Founded by the University of Alberta, Camp fYrefly is designed to help youth develop leadership skills and personal resiliency to support them in becoming agents for positive change in their schools, families, and communities.

Camp fYrefly Ontario was established at Trent University through the School of Education in 2017 by Dr. Spencer J. Harrison '97 and Dr. André P. Grace. This arts-based camp weekend for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth is hosted on campus and organized by Trent staff and faculty with community support, offering an intergenerational and diverse structure of creativity and education.

We need your support to remove financial barriers so that more 2SLGBTQIA+ youth can find community, empathy, and resiliency.

Together, we can build leadership with these radiant fYreflies!Camp fYrefly logo
