About Tony Storey 

Tony Storey ’71 is one of Trent University’s most influential alumni leaders. As the longest-serving Director of Alumni Affairs at any Canadian university, he shaped alumni engagement at Trent for more than three decades.

His contributions include founding signature programs such as the Alumni Awards, along with numerous other alumni prizes, scholarships, and events. In recognition of his national impact, he received the Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education’s Outstanding Achievement Award in 2011 and the Ontario Volunteer Service Award in 2024. Storey remains an active member of the Trent Association of Retired Persons.

Ideas that Change the World was created in 2011, in his honour, to celebrate learning beyond the classroom and the power of ideas to inspire connection, curiosity, and community.
